In March 2019, in the margins of the Stand Speak Rise Up! forum in Luxembourg, the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess Foundation co-funded a 5-day retreat for 50 survivors from the SEMA group – Global Network of Victims and Survivors of Sexual Violence in War – together with the Dr Mukwege Foundation.

During these five days, the survivors shared their common stories, so that they could realise that they were not alone, in order to start a process of reconstruction and recognition. They also participated in song and dance workshops to help them reclaim their bodies.
