Project Description
/ Simply Survivors comes to the Luxembourg station footbridge
Throughout September 2026, the photo exhibition Simply Survivors was on display on the footbridge at Luxembourg railway station.
The exhibition shares the stories of women who survived sexual violence in armed conflict, and of children born of rape. Given disposable cameras, they chose to show us their daily lives.
An opening surrounded by our partners
On 9 September, the exhibition was opened by Chékéba Hachemi, curator and co-founder of Stand Speak Rise Up!, alongside partners, mentors, young ambassadors and the association’s team.
It was a chance to stress how important it is to raise awareness of rape as a weapon of war among a wider audience. Set in a busy public space, the exhibition reached people who might never have gone looking for it.
Simply Survivors: their eyes, their voices
Too often, their stories stay hidden and their voices silenced. This exhibition gives them back visibility, a gaze of their own and a voice.
An exhibition by and for Survivors – find out more on the Simply Survivors page.
