Project Description
/ Chékéba Hachemi’s Talk at SNCF on Gender Diversity
Invited by SNCF as part of its initiatives promoting gender diversity and equality between women and men, Chekeba Hachemi, co-founder of Stand Speak Rise Up!, spoke to the company’s employees.
The event provided an opportunity to share her remarkable journey of commitment and to raise awareness of the association’s work in support of survivors of sexual violence.
A Lifetime of Commitment to Women’s Rights
Speaking to SNCF employees, Chekeba Hachemi reflected on her lifelong commitment to women’s rights. As the first female diplomat of Afghanistan’s Transitional Government and founder of the association Afghanistan Libre, she has dedicated her life to defending the rights of women and girls, promoting education, empowerment, and autonomy.
Her testimony highlighted how individual commitment can drive meaningful change and why gender diversity and equality are causes that concern everyone, both in society and in the workplace.
Raising Awareness of Stand Speak Rise Up!’s Mission
The event also provided an opportunity to present the mission of Stand Speak Rise Up!: to end rape as a weapon of war, advocate for the rights of children born of rape, and support survivors in rebuilding their lives.
Since 2019, the association has funded holistic projects around the world to ensure that all survivors of sexual violence can live in peace and dignity.
Businesses as Allies in the Fight for Equality
By welcoming this type of testimony, SNCF demonstrates the important role businesses can play in raising employees’ awareness of gender equality and the fight against violence against women.
