Project Description
/ Simply Survivors on display at the French National School for the Judiciary in Bordeaux
Stand Speak Rise Up! is proud to partner with the French National School for the Judiciary (École nationale de la magistrature, ENM) to present the Simply Survivors project in Bordeaux: a photo exhibition and a round table to make the voices of survivors of wartime rape heard and to recall the need to act against these crimes.
An exhibition to bear witness
As part of its “L’ENM expose” programme, the School is showing a selection of 15 photographs from 16 September 2026 to 16 February 2027 on its outer railings on rue du Maréchal Joffre, giving a voice to women and to children born of rape in wartime.
Through their own photographs, they open a window onto their lives, their strength and their resilience. The exhibition is free and open to all, on the outer railings of the ENM, rue du Maréchal Joffre in Bordeaux.
A round table to understand and act
On Thursday 15 October, the ENM’s Simone Veil lecture hall hosted the round table presenting the project, with Chékéba Hachemi, co-founder of Stand Speak Rise Up! and curator of the exhibition, Julie Pétré, deputy prosecutor at the French National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office (PNAT), Pauline Dubarry, deputy director of the ENM, and Emmanuelle Laudic-Baron, deputy head of the ENM’s international department.
The discussion brought together different perspectives on war crimes, support for victims, the training of judges and prosecutors, and international cooperation. More than 100 people attended.
Thank you to the ENM
Thank you to the École nationale de la magistrature for this partnership and its welcome, and to all the speakers and participants.
